I have had the honor of watching Brad and Beth Thorp take the pain from the loss of their precious son Mitchell and turn it into a new purpose in life. Only God can redeem a story as tragic as this and make something beautiful come from it. Every one of us can find not only inspiration from this story, but healing and help for whatever hardships we are facing. My hope is that you will follow their example and believe that God can transform your tragedies into triumphs as well!

This story leapt off the pages as I relived it with tears and joy. My friends Brad and Beth have done a superb job of retelling the story that changed so many of our lives. Truly, Mitchell Thorp’s story will change your life as well.

This incredible true story is how God can take what was meant for evil and turn it into something beautiful for his glory. This story will touch the hearts of many who need to know how to hear the voice of God, and how God intervenes in our lives in many amazing ways.

Few organizations see the “big picture” of charitable giving. But thanks to Brad and Beth Thorp, the Mitchell Thorp Foundation does. Through their own life tragedy in losing their son Mitchell in 2008, Brad and Beth Thorp have embraced their sorrow and have turned it into the most beautiful way of honoring his legacy, by helping those most vulnerable patients and their families.

Brad and Beth Thorp are a couple of the finest people I have met who continually inspire others with their absolute selflessness. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the work their foundation does to help critically ill children and families with resources that the medical team could not provide.

This book is a page turner. It is a testament of the power of love and faith, and a guidebook of how to get through tragedy and rise above it. The Thorp's story is a testament that "when men and women turn their lives over to God, they will discover that He can make a lot more out of their lives than they can". From tragedy they have created an incredible legacy of service, love and faith. This is a wonderful book about an incredible family!

I finished your wonderful book in two days. I couldn’t put it down! Your story is so very moving and I am so impressed by your family and your faith and dedication to honor Mitchell in such a wonderful way. I have shared with you before that I always had a special fondness for Mitchell and what a wonderful guy I think he was. So, I found certain parts of the book and the pictures of Mitchell grabbing his head incredibly difficult. The fact that you, Brad, and Matthew dealt with this day in and day out is hard to imagine. I am so glad that you told your story and that I got to read it. I always called Mitchell an angel on earth because of the way that he looked out for others. I now include your entire family in that category for all of the wonderful things that you do for others. You really are inspirational.

The easy read and flow of this true story is SO amazing and moving. The story of Love, Faith, and Determination to find a cure for Mitchell kept me turning the page. The pictures in the book also gave me a complete picture of their journey. The ripple effect this family has of Love, Faith, and Determination has truly become contagious throughout the world. With everything the world is going through today, this book is a MUST READ. Love, Faith, Hope, and Determination. Amen.

The book was amazing and heart wrenching. Brad and Beth are such incredibly strong people to have gone through Mitchell's loss and still stayed so strong in their faith. They are truly an inspiration in how they turned their tragedy into something good, by creating the foundation. I will be sharing this book with all of my friends and family and want to volunteer at the foundation's fundraisers every year.

Beth and Brad knew that after Mitchell died, whatever they did in life would have eternal purposes and that has been established through the Mitchell Thorp Foundation. Through all the people you have helped and the families you have touched. The community has witnessed the true heroism you both exemplify- in overcoming a tragedy and still giving from your heart and hands, everything you have, so that they know they are loved. I was touched by every part of the book. I still think about the scriptures you included because there are some that I go back to and look at how you appropriated them into the book based on the events that were happening. The book has truly brought me closer to God.

My family has gone through a similar situation with one of my grandsons and I found that I could relate with your family. It felt validating and that we were not alone in the extremely difficult process of worrying for a loved one's declining health. I appreciated your use of specific scripture to bring in God's words to your book to show you were holding onto faith and His plan for Mitchell and your family. The book brought out so many emotions, especially during your struggle to find a diagnosis. Your family absolutely showcased how a tragedy can be turned into a ripple effect for positive change in the world. I want to applause you and your family for choosing to change the world instead of hiding and giving up on the world. Where would all those families and children with life-threatening illnesses be without your endless, genuine help? Thank you for all your time and efforts you both put into Mitchell Thorp Foundation. Such an amazing book that hits every emotion! Grab a tissue box. It's the story about a young man, Mitchell, and his family from here in North County San Diego. This amazing God fearing family is full of love and offers so much support to families like mine and our community. All proceeds from her book go to her amazing foundation that she started, in honor of her son, Mitchell Thorp Foundation.

One of life’s greatest tragedies has got to be losing a child. Reliving that tragedy over and over would break most people, but for Beth and Brad Thorp, it has been an inspiring journey that has helped them transfer their strength and faith to those who need it most. While they lost a son, they gained a calling and an extensive network of supporters, friends, and clients bonded by hope and love. I highly recommend this book! It reminds those living through their darkest moments that God has a great plan waiting for you on the other side of your tragedy.

I was touched by a mother's strength to bring hope to others by sharing her family's story- the journey and pain they went through with Mitchell's illness, but the strength and courage they had/have in the Lord. I feel blessed to have met Mitchell. Even though it was only on the pages of a book, he has still impacted my life.
